Description
Deputy Clerk – Records
The Clerk’s Office of the Louisiana Supreme Court seeks a Deputy Clerk to play a vital role in preserving and organizing legal records integral to the functioning of the court system. Will supervise and be responsible for ensuring all records are accurately maintained, easily accessible, and in compliance with relevant codal and statutory provisions. Work is performed under the general direction of the Clerk of Court and involves organizing records for the docket, setting up schedules for archiving records in compliance with the State Archives, purging “dead” files for paper recycling and ensuring that proper record-keeping procedures followed. Additional duties include processing incoming records, signing record orders and responding to record requests. Will directly supervise departmental staff. Must possess strong knowledge of court record-keeping and filing policies and procedures, including electronic filing. Five years of related work experience in a court or other legal setting required. A Bachelor’s or Paralegal degree may be substituted in lieu of the required experience on a year for year basis.
